The IPES range includes UV Flame Detector and Infrared Flame Detector versions, or a combination thereof
The choice of flame detector will depend on radiation sources, facility conditions and your requirements
The IPES range of UV Flame Detector, Infrared Flame Detector and combined UV/IR Flame Detectors are highly accurate, durable and robust. Fire flame informers (FI) are optimal sensors that respond to the appearance of open fire almost immediately after its emergence. It is possible because the operation of FI is based on the registration of electromagnetic radiation of the flame. The choice of type of flame detector has to be made in accordance with the peculiarities of radiation sources, facility conditions and customers’ requirements.
There is even a triple infrared version of the IPES Flame Detector range. The main advantage of our Triple Infrared Flame Detector is that it alarms only when the three defined IR wavelength data agree. It allows us to guarantee maximum fire recognition as well as fast response time and virtually no false alarms. There are different types of false stimuli sources, such as direct sunlight, indirect sunlight, arc welder, resistive heater, fluorescent light, halogen light and incandescent light, which can cause false alarms. To avoid the influence of these spurious signals on the alarm signal, the most complete and jam-proof flame detectors are made multichannelled (IR3) or combined (UV/IR). The IPES range of UV Flame Detector and Infrared Flame Detectors provide user definable sensitivity and time delay settings along with LED indication of the detector’s status. Other types of the fire informers – smoke, heat, gas ones – react at the fire components that need pretty much time to travel to the sensor and initiate its launch. Also, the effect of various external factors (wind, smoke diffusion, air draught, sensor cooling or the presence of many people exhaling carbon dioxide) significantly limits the area under control of these informers or increases the probability of false launches. So under the conditions of the most possible appearance of the open fire (flammable vapors, gases and liquids), fire informers is the optimal choice for the effective measures of firefighting at the early stages of the flame appearance and proliferation. There are also single-channelled UV flame detector and infrared informers. They are cheaper but their use is appropriate only in the simple situation – if there are no noise sources (for example, heated machines or ultraviolet irradiation sources) or if the possibility of the wrong decision after false launch of the FI is decreased by other means (for example, the additional control of an operator).

Applications• Flammable and explosively dangerous zones with high concentration of hydrocarbons, oil and oil products • Warehouses of combustive-lubricating matter • Flammable and explosively dangerous manufactures • Gas transporting and storage facilities • As parts of fire extinguishing systems Benefits • Electronic report of events • Low power consumption • Immune to false stimuli sources • Adjustable and stable swivel mounting • Digital, analog and “dry contact” relay outputs • Additionally provided fire-simulator for operability testing • High sensitivity due to the use of optical, multi-spectral sensors • Possibility to connect external control and fire warning systems • Less number of detectors required to achieve complete coverage • Protection from corrosion and wide operation temperature range allowing to use IPES in hard environmental conditions and in the rooms without heating
